5th Annual China Town Hall – Baltimore

6 to 9pm, November 16th, 2011

On the evening of Wednesday, November 16, the City of Baltimore – Office of the Mayor and the Baltimore-Xiamen Sister City Committee hosted the 5th Annual China Town Hall on behalf of the National Committee on United States-China Relations (NCUSCR). Baltimore’s event was one of more than 50 similar functions held simultaneously throughout the United States. More than 60 persons attended this event at City Hall. The program began with a national webcast by Zbigniew Brzezinski, National Security Advisor to former President Jimmy Carter, and concluded with a local talk by Robert Goldberg, a Baltimore native who was Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, China from 2009 through January 2011. Messrs. Brzezinski and Goldberg addressed a wide range of current issues involving China and the United States including economics, trade, and security. There was also an opportunity for extensive Q&A and discussion with both speakers about these topics.

Baltimore’s China Town Hall was sponsored by three Maryland companies: CTRL Systems, Inc., John S. Connor, Inc., and Long River Realty.

The NCUSCR was established in 1966 to promote understanding and cooperation between the United States and Greater China in the belief that sound and productive Sino-American relations serve vital American and world interests.
