Mission and Organization

To promote business, cultural, educational, health/environmental and other cooperation and exchanges between the cities of Baltimore, Maryland, USA and Xiamen, Fujian, People’s Republic of China and to support Baltimore City’s other activities and programs related to China and the local Chinese community.

The BXSCC is one of the member committees of Baltimore Sister Cities, Inc. (BSC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and is affiliated with Sister Cities International.

The Baltimore-Xiamen Sister City Committee meets monthly. It is managed by a board of elected officers and carries on its activities through sub-committees.

Can I attend a Baltimore-Xiamen Sister City Committee meeting?

Yes! The committee meets on the third Thursday of each month. Please contact the Committee Secretary in advance to receive instructions on how to attend.

How can I join the Baltimore-Xiamen Sister City Committee?

Please contact the Committee Secretary to obtain a membership form. Annual dues are $10 (plus a small processing fee when paid online). Regular members vote on committee business and are expected to attend at least half of our meetings. Associate members take part without a voting role.

What is the benefit of becoming a sponsor?
What does a corporate membership or sponsorship provide?

Sponsors benefit from access to Xiamen leadership that has been cultivated over the last 30 years. Members of the committee have cordial, professional relationships and contacts with leaders in industry, education, medicine, the arts and many other fields.

How can I support the committee without joining?

Donations go to Baltimore Sister Cities, Inc., our 501(c)(3) parent. Please choose “Baltimore Xiamen” from the menu.
