The 2013 China Business & Trade Mission, from September 3 through September 12, 2013, was led by Baltimore City Deputy Chief for Economic Development Kaliope Parthemos.

The Mission was organized by the Baltimore-Xiamen Sister City Committee (BXSCC). The trip emphasized one-on-one matchmaking meetings with Chinese counterparts for companies in a wide range of industry sectors and interests (including exporting, importing, and attracting Chinese investment capital). There were also opportunities for meetings with relevant government officials and industry associations and representatives.

An Information Package was prepared to give prospective participants and sponsors the information necessary to decide about participating in or sponsoring the Mission. Additional, detailed information was shared with the individuals and companies that registered for the Mission.
